Himberti is a populated place in Zoba Debub, Eritrea. It is located at an elevation of 2,196 meters above sea level.
Qohaito was a major ancient city in what is now the Debub region of Eritrea. It was a pre-Aksumite settlement that thrived during the Aksumite period. The city was located over 2,500 meters above sea level, on a high plateau at the edge of the Great Rift Valley.

Metera is the name of both a small village and an important archaeological site in Eritrea. The latter is located some 136 kilometers southeast of the capital Asmara, just past Senafe on the road leading south to the border with the northern Tigray Region of Ethiopia. The archaeological site already has yielded evidence of several levels of habitation, including at least two different major cities, covering more than 1000 years. The topmost layers are associated with the Aksumite Empire and date from the fourth to the eighth centuries. This city was allied with or part of the powerful trading empire centered in the capital, Aksum, to the southwest. Metera was one of a string of cities along the trade route that ran from Aksum to port city Adulis. Hawulti, a pre-Aksumite or early Aksumite era obelisk, is situated here.
The Eritrean Highlands are a mountainous region in central Eritrea. Bordered to the south by the Mareb River, it is a northern continuation of the Ethiopian Highlands. The Highlands are at particular risk of deforestation and associated soil erosion. Furthermore, the region, lying south of the Sahel are at particular risk of desertification and frequent drought. The Highlands experience, as most tropical regions, two seasons; the rainy season is from June-September while the dry season is from September to June.
Emba Soira is reached by a paved road from the city of Senafe, located 135 kilometres south of the national capital Asmara. From there, a very difficult and perilous dirt track heading east for almost 20 kilometres leads to the mountain. The last part must be trekked and takes at least a few hours of travel.
Emba Soira is the highest mountain in Eritrea. Rising 3,018 metres above sea level, it is part of the Eritrean Highlands, one side of the Great Rift Valley which cuts through Eritrea and joins the Red Sea. The mountain is situated in the southeastern part of the Debub (Southern) administrative region in central Eritrea.
Filfil Solomuna - Eritrea's Rain Forest The forests extend along a chain of mountains and valleys. The elevation is between 900-2400 meters high. Along the route, special views appear in rapid succession such as rosy-patched bush shirks, splashing around the small rock pools.
